Ah, New York City.
I used to have a love/hate relationship with this city because I found it so polluted and saturated yet so interesting. As I grow older though, I can say that all I feel is love and so much of it! I see her now.
That’s why when I planned my return from the West Coast to Montreal this summer, I had to make a detour to spend some time in this beautiful city.
Here’s what I could pack between two very long Uber rides from and to JFK airport…
Checking in?
I’m a hardcore Airbnb user but for this short stay, I decided to treat myself with the most instagrammable hotel in town: PUBLIC Hotel.
This hotel blew my mind. From the self-check-in process to the most dreamy room of my life, I couldn’t ask for anything more. Even the gym was high-end and had unlimited water bottles. I’ve officially become a regular at this hotel and they don’t even know it yet.
I loved my room so much that I decided to fully enjoy it for the rest of the night.
Sunday, Funday!
Sunday was my only full day in town so it had to be productive. After a quick morning gym session, I went to Whole Foods which is only 4 minutes away to pick up a few things to bring home and also a light breakfast from their hot bar. As you can see, I was still trying to spend as much time in the room as possible 😂
I also picked up a solid americano at La Colombe Coffee Roasters.
After breakfast, I went straight to Soho for a shopping session at Uniqlo which never disappoints.
Next, I decided to visit Chalait, a cool matcha counter I had seen on Instagram a few times. They sell the prettiest Hydro Flask ever.
From there, I had no real plans so I decided to wander around my favorite neighborhood in Manhattan: Greenwich Village <3.
I stumbled upon Brodo on Hudston St and got so excited that I had to grab a cup of bone broth for the rest of my walk!
I ended up passing by Chelsea Market so I popped in to pick up some halva gifts from Seed + Mill.
After leaving Chelsea Market, I called a Lyft and visited Trader Joe’s for more stuff to bring back home. I also picked up a few food items for my flight the next day. They really do make the best salads and their packaging never got me in trouble at the airport!
From there, I went for another long walk back towards the hotel to take a few photos and just enjoy the vibe around me.
Once I got back in my room, I didn’t leave it until my ride arrived the next morning and it was just perfect.
