Biking the Lachine Canal in Montreal

July 14, 2014 (10y ago)

I took out my bike for the first time last Saturday for a ride with friends! I used to be a full-time biker but I stopped about two years ago from too many frustrations with the city and a few accidents.

This little beauty was built for my short self and it felt so good to ride it again! It's a single-speed and I love it that way.

We rode from Atwater Market all the way to Parc René-Levesque which took about an hour (one way).

After chilling by the water and enjoying the breeze, we got back on our bikes and caught chants coming from the Kahnawake Mohawk Territory, it was pretty magic! Our group split in two when we passed the McAuslan Brewery. I was too tired for a beer on the terrace so I headed back to Atwater Market to grab some fresh gluten-free sausages and sauerkraut for dinner!

This is what summer is about in Montreal!
